Welcome to the new-look Learning and Skills Beacon status website.
Beacon status provides public recognition of the excellence and innovation which exists within the further education system. It celebrates learning providers that deliver outstanding teaching and learning and is for providers funded by the Learning and Skills Council (LSC) and inspected by the Office for Standards in Education, Children's Services and Skills (Ofsted).
On these pages you’ll find information on Beacon organisations, Beacon innovation funding and events. There’s also a news section with current and past issues of the Beacon newsletter and an interactive map to help you find Learning and Skills Beacons in your area. There is also a discussion forum which forms part of the online Beacon community.
