What is the judging panel looking for?
The judges are looking for ideas which are not only unique but which demonstrate real innovation. The judges encourage proposals where Beacons are working and/or developing and establishing effective partnerships with other providers, stakeholders, partners and employers. Projects which outline strategies for publicising and promoting the intended outcomes and, likewise, effective solutions for evaluating the benefits and impact are encouraged. The panel are also keen on projects which support and identify ways to respond to the major reforms, such as Leitch, self regulation and social cohesion.
To view a downloadable document which outlines the feedback given by the judging panel in previous rounds, and to give you more idea of what the panel is looking for, please view the innovation fund judging panel report which can be downloaded from the resource pool.
How many bids can I submit?
There is no limit to the number of bids any Beacon may submit to LSIS, although there is no guarantee of funding. All bids will be treated on their own merits and will be subject to the same judging process.
What happens next?
All successful Beacons in receipt of innovation funding will be asked to report on the progress of their activity on a regular basis and this will form part of the contract between LSIS and the Beacon provider.

Evaluation and impact
LSIS is keen to share the lessons learned about the projects we commission and there is an expectation that Beacons in receipt of innovation funding will work with LSIS in a number of ways to support the sharing and transfer of their project outcomes. Examples of the various ways in which we may invite you to work with us are:
